What started as a family weekend ski trip has allowed Bob to ski in many countries around the world.
He began teaching skiing in Australia in 1979 and was lucky enough to make great connections with European instructors. This led to seasons in Switzerland and Austria. In the 90s he started teaching in Colorado. All this time he was teaching in both hemispheres, and managed to spend 23 years effectively without a summer. Recently he has been teaching part-time in Japan. Although he has been heavily involved with training ski instructors since 1986, he is still passionate about teaching regular students. In 2002, Bob moved to Wānaka to take on the role of Snowsports Manager at Treble Cone. After four years, he switched to Cardrona, and has been there ever since. Bob still lives just outside of Wānaka.

After a chance to try the Norsewear ski socks this season in Japan, he was asked to offer feedback. He absolutely loved the socks. Through a great connection, Bob was given the opportunity to meet the Norsewear team.
“I found it intriguing to meet such a diverse and passionate team who seem to be building upon the incredible backstory of Norsewear. The partnership with New Zealand farmers, and the local community is really genuine, and this is on display throughout the entire range of products on offer. I am excited to see what's next.”
