Launched by Norsewear in the 80’s, the Ruahine Wind Blocker was New Zealand’s first pure wool jersey with a wind blocker lining. Proven to keep you warm and comfortable in the toughest conditions, the Ruahine has a a ¼ zip neckline with an anti-pill fleece lined collar for added warmth and comfort against your neck. A favourite for farmers, tradespeople, forestry workers, hunters, and fishermen- it’s perfect when the going gets tough.

The polar fleece lining for added warmth and wind blocking is a great idea. And Wool can be scratchy on the skin. I prefer soft wool but this is a gift to a good friend in Northern Norway who is heading towards a harsh winter and polar night! I am sure he will love and appreciate such a jumper, not to mention the NZ-Norway connection and origins!! Only he can give a true review after wearing it tho :) preferred blue but out of stock.

Windblocking lining uncomfortable

The jersey itself is fine. I did not appreciate the weight and cold discomfort of the lining until I put it on. I like the feel of wool against my skin. I bought a similar jersey from you many years ago. It is now starting to wear out but still lovely and warm against my skin. I cannot return the RQZJ because I have destroyed the original packing and removed the attached tab. My fault there. I’m investigating whether the lining can be safely removed/cut off.

The best jumper for cold and wind!

Best jumper I've ever worn. Bought it in Kaikoura 6years ago and wore it ther up on the farm, then in Melbourne winters and now up in the Snowy Mountains.
getting a bit thin and one of the elbows has a hole, they need leather elbow patches. went to order a new one and out of stock? Please advise when you have some more made.
