Over a thousand of our most vulnerable Kiwis are looking forward to warmer, dryer feet thanks to Norsewear’s passionate community of sock lovers.
In October – or Socktober, as we call it around here – Norsewear pledged to match every online sock purchase made at Norsewear with a pair to be donated to Te Tāpui Atawhai Auckland City Mission. Well, you guys absolutely came to the party!
This week, our MD Tim Deane totted up the figures, topped it up a bit, and handed over 1000 pairs of socks to Fundraising Manager Deb Ward, to be distributed to the homeless men, women and children who access Mission services.
These cosy, quality New Zealand-made merino socks are collectively worth over $25,000 and Debs says they’ll be gratefully received as socks are an item most often requested, but rarely donated.
“Everyone deserves to keep their feet fresh and hygienic, no matter their circumstances or living conditions,” says Tim. “It’s been really incredible to see Norsewear customers step up for the Auckland City Mission in this meaningful way.”
